Born in 1980, Anjali Marathe is an Indian singer from Maharashtra. Her mother, Anuradha Marathe, was a well-known singer who inspired her to choose the path of music and even gave her training in classical music. She launched an album called; Abhal Ek Rangveda Sanyasi" in 2013. At the tender age of 16, the immensely talented Anjali Marathe was honored with the National Film Award for the Best Playback Singer (1966) for singing the song Bhui Bhegalali Khol from Doghi, a Marathi film. Anjali Marathe learned classical music under her mother, Anuradha Marathe, who is a renowned classical & light vocalist and conducts stage shows of Hindi and Marathi songs. After her graduation, she wished to pursue medicine. When she was in eleventh standard, she realized that her calling was to pursue a career in the field of music. At the age of nine, Anjali Marathe recorded her first song in Marathi titled “Olak Sangana.” Since then, she has sung for Marathi films and television serials. She sings both Hindi and Marathi songs. At the age of sixteen, she was honored with the National Film Award in the category of Best Playback Singer for her rendition of a song in the Marathi film “Doghi” in 1996.
Anjali Marathe recorded songs for Saibaba (Marathi), Chaukat Raja (Marathi), Doghi (Marathi), and title songs for the show “Jhuthe Sacche Gudde Bacche” in Hindi. Also, she recorded vocals for All India Radio (AIR) Pune for “Balodyan” (a residential hostel project for nomadic and orphan children). She took part in several stage shows. She also participated in many other cultural events. She participated in Smaranayatra at Jagtik Marathi Parishad in Mumbai. She also participated in Chimangani, a program for children.
