Have you ever seen this man? If not, you must've heard him. I cannot play his voice, but if I could, you'd probably recognize it. He is Abhijeet Khandkekar, more acknowledged and recognizable as RJ Abhijeet for Punekars. He is from Nashik, Pune where he did his schooling and his specialization in Mass Communication. He was a multi-talented guy and showed interests in acting as well as anchoring. His interest in anchoring eventually got him the position of an RJ on Radio Mirchi.

But sooner, he decided to explore more of his talents in the promising entertainment industry. For this purpose, he went and participated in Zee Marathi’s Maharashtra Superstar contest. He fared well and ended up as a finalist but could not see himself winning the show. Despite being a runner-up, he had to struggle hard to find a role before he landed with the lead on a serial “Maziya Priyala Prit Kalena” of Balaji telefilm’s, the first ever Marathi serial launched by Ekta Kapoor.

But he always had his family backing him up. Ekta wanted a hard working and passionate crew instead of a famous one which worked well for Abhijeet. The serial became a hit on Marathi Television and Khandkekar had become a known face in Marathi Industry. Besides working on small screen, he also exercised his anchoring talents and hosted many award functions and ceremonies. In the T.V industry, he became known for his Romantic roles. His first signed up movie 'Jai Maharashtra Dhaba Bhatinda' came in 2013 and is also remembered for its romantic angle between a Marathi boy and a Punjabi girl.

Since then Abhijeet has been signed up for various movies, his next movie was ‘Mamachya Gavala Jaaoo Yaa’ (2014) which was a thriller film unveiling the loving relationship with Mama. Talking about couples, Abhijeet got married in February 2013, with his longtime friend Sukhada Deshpande with whom he has worked on a TV serial called Gharkul. Sukhada is also from Nashik and the two met on Facebook. His newest movies are Dhyanimani (2017) and Bhay released on 2nd March 2018.
