Dr. Shrikrishna Raut is a signature contemporary Marathi Poetry. He has a talent for experimenting with things. All his poems have diversification in motif and subject. This well-known personality was born on 1 July 1955 in the Parut district of Aloka, India. He has M.Com. , M.A, M.Phil., Ph.D.(Marathi), Ph.D.(Commerce) degrees. E was the former Head of the Department of Commerce in Shree Shivaji College, Aloka. He is mostly known for his Gazals. He also has received a Ph.D. in Korku folk songs. Dr. Shrikrishna Raut received Bhagwanbaba Kavya Purashkar for the collection of Abhangas - Tuko Badshaha. Most of his collections were composed during the 90s.
The genre of Gazal in the Marathi language was skillfully handled by this poet Dr. Shrikrishna Raut. Sant Tukaram is his inspiration. Abhangas of Tukaram brought a change in his thinking, he started to feel a divine presence. After that, his writings also reflect the same thing. Bhakti tradition became his style. He always experiments with language and expresses things in the language of the masses. Everyone can understand the power of words in his writing.
