Dasu Vaidya

Dr Dasu Vaidya is a distinguished Marathi poet and writer. He was born on the 10^th of December 1967 in Nanded, India. His area of work consists of literature and writing. He was fond of poems since his childhood. He completed his education in modern literature at Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. He has written many acts, plays, children’s literature and lyrics for films. His strengths in poetry are incongruity and opposition. He has written lyrics for the film “Savarkhed Ek Gaon” and many TV serials. From writing in magazines to writing in many prestigious competitions, he is a recipient of many awards including Alfagaurav, Mata Samman and Bhaulmitra Sahitya Puraskar.

His books have been published in different genres like Children’s poems, anthologies and Lalit Leksangraha. Some of his published books are Turtas, C Kavitate, Bhurr, Mela and many more. His work has been translated into different languages like Hindi. English, Malayalam, Telugu and Urdu. He is the head of the Marathi Department and a professor at the Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. He is a renowned poet recognised for his contributions to academics and Marathi literature. His works have enriched and promoted the Marathi culture and literature and give inspiration to others in the field of literature. He has been honoured with the esteemed ‘Educationist M H Patil Memorial Award’ at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar to honour his remarkable journey.
