Makarand is a visual artist and filmmaker. He graduated from FTII with a concentration in film editing. More than 60 fiction, non-fiction, and documentary projects include him. He is a film educator as well. Visual artist and filmmaker Makarand Dambhare resides and works in Pune. He graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Pune and went to the FTII to specialize in film editing (Film and Television Institute of India). He holds degrees in animation, illustration, graphic design, and teaching. Makarand has worked as an editor, animator, technical director, cinematographer, and production designer on over 60 fiction, non-fiction, and documentary projects.
His debut Marathi feature film, the award-winning short documentary "Maneesha 1941," is among his significant productions. In international film festivals, "Lathe Joshi" earned multiple prizes for editing. Additionally, he edited the independent experimental film "Ashlil Udyog Mitra Mandal." He is still involved in numerous feature film productions. In addition, Makarand contributed illustrations to the children's book "The heart of the Tree." He contributes to the faculty and teaches visual arts and filmmaking. Maneesha 1941 (2014), Lathe Joshi (2016), and Ashlee Udyog Mitra Mandal are among Makarand Dambhare's best-known works (2018).
