Jayoo Patwardhan is one of the most celebrated directors of Marathi as well as the Hindi film industry. She is also entitled to being a fine screenplay artist and an art director. Born in one of the cleanest cities of Madhya Pradesh, Indore, on 18 May 1949, she has given some significant work to the Indian cinema. Her notable contributions include Devi Ahilya Bai, Limited Manuski, 22 June 1897, Anantyatra, and Utsav. For some of the projects mentioned above, she has received several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Feature Film for Anantyatra (1986), Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film for 22 June 1897 (1980), and the National Film Award for Best Production for Utsav (1987).
