Anand Mhasvekar is a famous playwright, director, producer, and poet, born on 1 May 1954 in Mhasave Satara district, Maharashtra, India. He predominantly worked for the Marathi film industry. He has done his schooling from Pachwad School and received a B.Com and M.A. in Marathi from Mumbai University. Initially, he worked at the State Bank of India from 1979 to 2000.
After that, he started writing and worked as a full-time writer. His famous plays are U-Turn, Katha, Jodi Jamali Tuzi Mazi, Kevha Tari Pahate, Jamala Buva Ekadaacha, GodFather, hyancha he asach asta, Aani Achanak, Sagala kahi such a sathi, Mothers Day, Ek do teen chaar, Darana gunha hai, Reshim Gathi, Choice is yours, Amhi Bolato Marathi, Bhagyalakshmi, Tamasha of humanity, Durga Mhantyat Mala, Kanakhali ganapati kadhin, Asa mi kay gunha kelaa, Kabhi ye Kabhi wo, etc.
He directed Asa mi kay gunha kela, Amhi Bolato Marathi, Asa mi kay gunha Kela, Bharat aala parat, etc. Anand also won many awards like Zee Natya Gaurav Best writer award for U Turnin 2008, Maharashtra Rajya shasan vyavsayik Natya Mahotsav for best writer in 2009, Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad best writer Acharya are award, Mumbai Marathi Sahitya Sangh best writer award, Mumbai Marathi Granth Sangrahalaya best writer award, Mumbai Doordarshan Manik Award, etc.
