Mohammed S. Burmawala is an assistant director and executive producer in the Indian film industry. He began his career in 1985 as an assistant director under Govind Patel, a Gujarati film maker. Under his guidance, he assisted in directing the Gujarati song Sajan Tara Sambharna (1985). It was Burmala's first project in the industry. Then in 1987, he was the assistant director for Moti Verena Chowk Ma, a Gujarati film starring Urmila Bhatt, Raksha Desai, and Feroz Irani. In 1989, he began working for Ranjit Herma. In the following years, Burmawala switched through many firms, sometimes working for renowned film makers of the industry. He gradually paved the way for himself. In these years, we saw him working as assistant director for Agneekaal (1990), Khiladi (1992), Nazar Ke Saamne (1995), Baadshah (1999), Chori Chori Chupke Chupke (2001), Taarzan: The Wonder Car (2004), 36 China Town (2006), Race 2 (2013), Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon (2015), and Khido Khundi (2018).
In September 2020, Buramawala joined Netflix as a full-time assistant director. Here, he contributed to the making of the South Korean television series- The Penthouse: War In Life. The series was a huge success and received worldwide appreciation from the viewers. Apart from his work as an assistant director, Burmawala was seen in acting roles and as an executive producer. He made a small appearance in the 2007 film Naqaab, starring Bobby Deol and Urvashi Sharma. In 2013, he played a minor role in Saif Ali Khan's Race 2. His credits as an executive producer include- Life Partner (2009), Players (2012), Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon (2015), and Machine (2017).
