Saorabh was born on June 4, 1983 in a small town called Malvan in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. He is an engineering graduate and began his career by working in a multinational company. Meanwhile, he shifted to Mumbai in order to pursue a career in acting which was his only ambition. As an initial step to achieving this goal, he entered the show business and started working as a model. He modelled for different brands and walked ramps on fashion weeks. Modelling gained him opportunities to appear in commercials and marketing campaigns. During his modelling days, he also used to associate with theatres in Dombivli. He appeared in one-act plays; this marked the beginning of his acting career.

However, he was financially challenged during his struggle days. Toiling hard to gain a name in the film industry while trying to make ends meet was not easy to keep up with. This crisis pushed him into trying a hand in photography and cinematography. He took up film projects as a D.O.P. He also directed many short films and series during his hustling days. However, his life turned a corner when he was offered a role in the Marathi daily soap Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba, telecasted on Star Pravah. This was a breakthrough in his career. He played the role of an antagonist and got notice.
