Gopichand Padalkar

Indian politician Gopichand Kundalik Padalkar was born on October 1, 1982. He is a supporter of Bharatiya Janata Party. He was born in Padalkarwadi, Sangli district, to Kundlik and Hiramaai Padalkar. Kundli Padalkar, his father, was a primary school teacher. Gopichand Padalkar, a Dhangar from Maharashtra who graduated from higher secondary school, represents Maharashtra in the legislative council. On May 14, 2020, he was elected by MLAs to the Legislative Council without opposition. He began his political career with the Rashtriya Samaj Paksha after serving with the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. Before the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Elections, he returned to the BJP. He is an actor and a filmmaker as well.

Before being elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council, he unsuccessfully ran for District Council once, Vidhan Sabha three times, and Lok Sabha once. He joined the Bhartiya Janata Party in 2014 and ran in the Atpadi-Khanapur constituency for the 2014 general election. After leaving the party, he joined Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi to run for the Sangali Lok Sabha seat in the summer of 2019. He made a valiant effort as a losing candidate and received more than three lakh votes.
