Ajit Abhyankar works as a social activist while pursuing his love of acting. He serves as a visiting professor at the Symbiosis College of Liberal Arts in Pune, where he offers knowledge on topics like Marxism and the political process. Professionally, he spent a period teaching commerce in the senior division at BMCC, Pune, from 1981 to 1997. He took the important decision to resign from his post in 1997 so that he could devote himself completely to fighting for the rights of the working class.
