Kedamangalam Ali is a Malayalam film actor during the 60s and 70s. He was born in the year 1932 in Kedamangalam, Ernakulam District, in Kerala. 

Kedamangalam started his career in the year 1961; he debuted in Ramu Kariat’s Malayalam film, Mudiyanaya Puthran, a film adaptation of Thoppil Bhasi’s stage play in 1957. This was followed by an appearance in the Malayalam film, Ninamaninja Kalpadukal, in 1963. This film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam and became a blockbuster film. In the same year, he was seen in Sathyan-starrer Moodupadam, which was directed by Ramu Kariat and in P. Bhaskaran’s Ammaye Kaanaan. In the year 1964, he had three releases; two of them were Sathyan-starrers namely Thacholi Othenan and Aadyakiranangal and one was with Prem Nazir in the horror-romance film, Bhargavi Nilayam. This was followed by films like Kochumon, Ammu, NGO, Aval, Nadhi, Poompatta, Kandavarundo, Chenda, Maram, Nellu, Thomasleeha, Abhimaanam, Dweepu, Ormakal Marikkumo and a lot more. His last film appearance was in P Chandrakumar’s Enne Njan Thedunnu in the year 1983.

Kedamangalam Ali died on April 26, 1986.

Karamana Janardanan Nair is a popular Malayalam film artist during the 80s and 90s. Born on July 25, 1936, to Bhargaviyamma and Kunjuveettil Ramaswami Iyyer, he studied at the Govt Model Boys High School in Chalai and later took a Bachelor of Arts before he pursued Bachelor of Law at the Government Law College in Thiruvananthapuram. Besides that, he took Masters in History at the University College in Thiruvananthapuram. During college, he joined the Student’s Federation. Later, Karamana worked in the office of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation. He participated in the drama clubs in Thiruvananthapuram and actively worked in radio and theater. He studied at the National School of Drama during the 1960s. Karamana got married to Jaya J Nair, and they have three children namely Sunil, Sudheer (who is also a Malayalam actor) and Sujay.  In 1969, Karamana acted in P. Subramaniam’s Urangatha Sundary. It was followed by some films, where he acted as a protagonist. He is notable for his performance as Unni in Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Malayalam film, Elippathayam in 1981. This film won the Most Original and Imaginative Film shown at the National Film Theatre at the British Film Institute in 1982, the Sutherland Trophy at the London Film Festival, and two National Film Awards. He gained popularity as Prabhakaran Thampi in Mohanlal-starrer screwball comedy film Pattanapravesham in 1988; in P. Balachandran’s Agnidevan; and as Fr. Ottaplakkan in the Malayalam action drama film, Spadikam in 1995. Karamana is also notable for his performance as the ignorant husband of Seema’s character in the 1988 family drama film, Mattoral, where he acted with Mammootty in the lead roles. He was last seen in the action film, F.I.R in 1999, where he acted as a Catholic priest and in Ente Priyappetta Muthuvinu in the year 2000.  Karamana’s son Sudheer is a popular Malayalam film actor, known for doing villain roles, as well as character and supporting roles. Karamana died at the age of 63 in April 24, 2000,. 



Kunjandi is a Malayalam, film actor. He was born in the year 1912 at Kozhikkode, Kerala in India and started his film career in the year 1962. Before entering the film industry, he was a theatre actor since the age of 12 and has acted in over 800 stage plays. Kunjandi was said to be more dedicated to his theatre career than of his film career. Nevertheless, he has worked in more than 150 films during the 60s until the 90s and portrayed supporting and character roles. He used to perform in several films of director I.V. Sasi and became notable in Angadi (1980), Ahimsa (1981), Ee Nadu (1982), Iniyenkilum (1983) and many more. In 1962, he was debuted in the PB Unni’s Malayalam film entitled Swargarajyam, which stars T.R. Omana, Ambika, T.S. Muthaiah and Angamuthu. Since then, there is no looking back. He performed in several films like Ammaye Kaanaan, Thacholi Othenan, Udayam Kizhakku Thanne, Uttarayanam, Bandhanam, Lava, Ahimsa, NH 47, Vella, Kayyum Thalayum Purathidaruthu, Panchagni, Vartha, Doore Doore Oru Koodu Koottam, Arappatta Kettiya Gramathil, Vrutham, Oridathu, Kanakambarangal, Dhwani, Malootty, Kadathanadan Ambadi, Kadavu, No. 1 Snehatheeram Bangalore North, Kaanchanam, Kalyaanakkacheri, Kalyaana Unnikal, The Truth and a lot more. In the year 1992, he received the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award, and he was later honored with a fellowship. In 1993, he earned the Pushpasree Trust Award and the Ramashram Award in the year 1999. Kunjandi died on January 6, 2000, at his residence in Palakkad. He was 83-years old at the time of his death.
