Thimatchipuram Rajagopal Raghunath was a legendary film director. He was born on 16th July 1912 in Thiruvananthapuram during the British Raj. His career spanned twenty-seven years between the periods of 1936 and 1973. He made his directorial debut with the movie ‘KIzhattu Mappillai.’ He has directed more than thirty movies. He was more successful in having an impact on the masses through his movies when compared to his brother, director Raja Chandrashekhar.
He directed his last movie, ‘Angathattu,’ in 1974. Some of his other works include Kavitha, Yar Paiyan, Singari, Prabhavati, etc. He passed away at the age of 77 on 2nd January 1990.
