Ebin Raj Maliakal

Ebin Raj Maliakal is a director cum writer hailing from Kalavoor in Alappuzha, Kerala. Thomas Raju and Agesta are his parents. Ebin Raj Maliakal completed his education at Bharathiyar University and Kerala University. Ebin is now settled in Palai. Writing is his favorite thing and his first article was published in 1998. Mukarekha magazine from Alappuzha published his first article, M.P Paul Thuranitta Vazhikaliluday. He made his directorial debut in the same year with Asuramoorthy, a political drama. The drama was staged at Aiswariya Auditorium in Alappuzha. In 2005, he made a TV program, Beyond Vision and it was broadcast on Shalom TV. Following this, he had worked on the scripts and directed various TV Programs.

During 2014 and 2015, he worked for Live TV shows in the US. Ebin is popular for his documentary films, Green Line, Maduram Nintey Jeevitham, Novel Life, and Lokamay Yathra. Almost all his films received critical appreciation unanimously. In 2015, H&C Books, Thrissur published his book, Documentary Thirakkathakal. Ebin’s films are screened at various international film festivals, worldwide. His movies received awards at the American golden picture international film festival in Florida, Europe Film Festival U.K, Berlin Flash Film Festival In Germany, Istanbul Film Festival In Turkey, Digital Griffix Film Festival In Canada, World Film Carnival Singapore, Indo Singapore International Film Festival, French International Film Festival, Bhutan International Film Festival, Calcutta International Cult Film Festival, and Arogya Film Festival Pune.

Besides this, he has also received the Chalachitra academy research fellowship and the Kerala State Government Television Award. Ebin is selected as the Panel Director in the Kerala Information and Public Relations Department and the Kerala State Film Development Corporation. Ebin is honored with the Kerala film critics award. Ebin is married to Sunitha and has two kids, Augusta Maria and Jophine Anna.
