Baekhyun

Baekhyun is a popular singer, actor cum songwriter from South Korea. He was born Byun Baek-Hyun on 6th May 1992 in Wonmi-gu, Bucheon in South Korea. Baekhyun has an elder brother named, Baek-beom. When Baekhyun was 11 years old, he had an opportunity to listen to Rain, a popular South Korean singer. From then, he developed an interest in singing. While doing his schooling, he joined a band, Honsusangtae. Besides singing, he had also learned to play the piano. He got his piano training from Kim Hyun-woo of Dick Punks, a renowned South Korean rock band. Not only did he excelled in the music field, but also martial arts. Baekhyun is a black belt holder in Hapkido. While preparing for his entrance exams to join the Seoul Institute of Arts, SM Entertainment provided him with an opportunity to get trained in singing. He got his training in 2011 with SM Entertainment and then joined as a member in the EXO boy band in 2012. Besides being in the EXO, Baekhyun is also a leader-member in Super M, the South Korean boy band. With his amazing compositions and voice, Baekhyun attracted the audience and became one of the important vocalists in Exo. He started releasing his own albums in 2019. City Lights created a huge record in 2019 with more than half a million sales to its credit. In 2020, his second album, Delight, created another record, and from then, he has been addressed as Genius Idol.

Before releasing his solo albums, Baekhyun had released joint albums and one of them was in association with Suzy, a Miss A member. 'Dream' was the first duet album for Baekhyun and it got released in 2016. Dream had been in the first position five times in the music programs, Music Bank and Inkigayo of South Korean TV. In 2017, he released an album, Rain, joining hands with Soyou, a member of Sistar, the girl group. Baekhyun got the real honor in 2018 at the Winter Olympics. He was offered to perform the South Korean National Anthem in the presence of Moon Jae-in, the South Korean President, at the opening ceremony of the 132^nd International Olympic Committee Session. He had also performed in dramas on South Korean Television. He played the main role in the drama Exo Next Door and a supporting role in the Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. He had also appeared in a guest role in the series, To the Beautiful You.
