Gautami Kawale

Gautami Kawale is one of the most famous YouTubers in India. She attended the Ryan International School in Mumbai. Then she completed her graduation in the field of arts. Gautami was born on October 29, 1998. She gained immense recognition at the age of 24 for being one of the founders of the channel Slayy Point on YouTube. 

Gautami and her partner, Abhyundaya Mohan, have been best friends for over a decade. They both decided to create a YouTube channel during their HSC examination in 2016. Both tried their best to balance their education alongside their production quality. And they succeeded in doing so. Gautami scored 93% in the HSC examinations and chose to continue pursuing arts. Gautami and Abhyundaya paid off their efforts with the enormous fame they gained through their channel, Slayy Point. 

Gautami and Abhyundaya, the creators of Slayy Point, never intended to select millennial-friendly topics initially as they do now. Their focus earlier was on cricket, they wanted their channel to be the first cricket-dedicated YouTube channel named Silly Point Silly Point is a Hindi TV show on the MTV channel. >> Read More... . And it was, through Silly Point, that both the creators delivered great content for cricket fans, but for some reason, it did not work out. Therefore, they later changed their channel’s name to Slayy Point and shifted the genre of their content to roasts, reactions, and millennial entertainment.

Slayy Ponint was well-received by the audience and helped the creators manufacture their channel’s content based on what the audience wanted to see. Before Silly Point, both Gautami and Abhyundaya used to make Facebook memes and reaction videos in their free time. Around this time, they decided to start a YouTube channel. Although both the creators made equal contributions for the channel’s success, it was Gautami who wrote most of the scripts to their YouTube videos. 

Gautami joined an all-women’s group to form a women’s comedy group in 2018. Slayy Point soon gained popularity after their most popular video, which created the viral Binod meme. This popularity benefited both the creators of Slayy Point, and they started collaborating with other YouTubers and brands like Netflix. Gautami and Abhyundaya collaborated with Netflix as they were approached to foster the meme culture and maintain relevancy. The creators of Slayy Point originated another channel and named it Slayy Pop. This channel was dedicated purely to gaming, where they played cricket and live-streamed their gameplay. This helped them achieve their earlier goal of creating an all-out cricket-based channel.  

In 2019, Gautami and Abhyundaya hosted the red-carpet event of YouTube Fan Fest in Mumbai. They later conducted some interviews with famous cricketers, YouTubers, and Bollywood celebrities. For their vast success, Gautami and Abhyundaya were awarded 2 Silver Play buttons and 1 Golden Play button by YouTube.
