Madan Duklan

Madan Duklan born on 10 March 1964 in Khaneta village of Bichchla Badalpur of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand is a lyricist, Garhwali and Hindi language poet, screenplay writer, magazine editor, and dramatist has passed B.Sc and Master in Public Administration. He has twenty-five years of experience in script/songwriting, direction, and acting in theatre and regional film. He is the founder member and Chief Trustee of Himalaya Lok Sahitya Evam Sanskriti Vikas Trust and has been a theatre, film, and literature activist, Chief Editor of Chithee- Patri(Garhwali Magazine), and relays Garhwali songs and poems from Doordarshan and All India Radio since 1985.

In his editorial, he pointed out the reasons behind the depression in the Garhwali drama world, urged Uttrakhand Government to come forward to protect the decline of the staging of Garhwali plays. He directed Gattu Aur Kalyugi Debta (Garhwali film) by Swapn Films, and Jog Jaani released by T-series, acted in many movies and songs like Aunsi ki Raat, Shri Dev Suman, Hantya, Ekhari Maya, Yaad Aali Teri, Gaura, Meri Tehri, Mohana, Daanda Ka Saud Maa, Hey Dhanee, Ab Ta Khulali Raat, Jaago Jara (Hindi Doordarshan serial), Jai Kalu Sidh Baba (Hindi film). He wrote songs for many albums like Uttrakhand Ke Rangeet, Himalaya Ka Bwalelo, and Vigyan Chetna.

As a literature activist, he published Inn Dino (Hindi Poems), Andi Jaandi Saans (Garhwali songs & poems), Chehro Ke Ghere (Hindi Poems), Gwathani Ka Gaon Bate (A collection of poems of 18 prominent Garhwali poets), Paryas (Collection of Hindi Poems), Apno Aina Apni Andwaar (Collection of Garhwali Poems, ready to release), Angwal (A book of Garhwali poems collection with its history from 1850 to 2012). He edited Gwathani Ka Gaon Bate a collection of poems of 18 prominent Garhwali poets), a souvenir on the Silver Jubilee of Uttrakhandi Cinema.
