After a break of four years, Pooja Madaan has made a great comeback with the serial Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg, produced by
Rajan Shahi
, being aired on Colors. Pooja plays the role of Kamla, Shubh’s real mother and Satyanarayan’s first wife, deceased. It was the strength of the role, the backing it got from the author and the characteristics of being a strong woman, loving mother and wife that collectively convinced Pooja to accept the role. It was a cameo and required only 25 days of shooting, so she agreed.
Pooja was very clear over the past few years that her family and her daughter, Samika who is now 3 years old, were her priorities. Before she took a break from the industry, Pooja was seen in Amaanat and thereafter on DD 1 in the show Ehsaas. In Amaanat she played the role of Santosh, eldest daughter of Lahori Ram.
She is now doing a bigger role in Pratigya where she is mother of three grown up boys. This serial is being telecast on Star Plus. The role is of Rakhi Mathur, who is educated and straightforward. She has an opinion on all issues. Her husband’s role is played by
Chetan Pandit
. Long back, Pooja appeared in the show Kise Apna Kahein (2003) on Sahara Manoranjan, produced by
Saira Banu
and Dilip kumar. Pooja played the role of Tasleem. This serial did not do well and had very low TRPs’.Â
Along with 10 other famous television stars, Pooja walked the ramp for the launch of Aishwarya Rai’s signature collection from Nakshatra Diamond Jewellery range- Ash’s Choice.
Pooja got married in 2003 to Deepak Chandra who heads India operations of a Multinational Company. She is ready to do more cameo roles as of now so that her daughter is not neglected. She is of the opinion that in the intermediate 4 years, things have changed a lot in the industry in terms of variety and number of shows and channels. Moreover there are more region-centric shows too now like Balika Vadhu which is based in Rajasthan and Swarg which is based in Mathura.
