Kaushik Ghatak was born on August 12 in the year 1971 in Katwa of Bardhaman, which is situated in West Bengal in India. He is a great director in the Indian film industry and had directed many notable films. He began his journey in the Industry of Entertainment on February 14 in the year 1998 as a coadjutor or assistant to the eminent filmmaker and director, Anurag Basu. Before entering into the sturdy ride of filmmaking, he directed many famous TV serials and some of the advertisements and endorsements. He made his debut of direction by directing the movie “Ek Vivah..Aisa Bhi” which starred Isha Kopikar and Sonu Sood under the banner of Rajshri Productions. Recently, he has worked on an another movie under the banner of the same production house which is “.”. The producer of the movie is Kavita K. Barjatya. He was born to Mr. Dasarathi Ghatak and Mrs. Jayati Ghatak. He is married to Mrs. Anita Ghatak, and they have two children, Shansit Ghatak, and Shashwant Ghatak.

He did his schooling from St. Xavier’s School in Bihar. He did his graduation in Geology Honours from the College St. Xavier’s College in Ranchi. He got admitted to one of the finest institutes of Asian Academy of Films and Television in Noida to hone his skills of direction. Mr. Kaushik has been an assistance director on many projects including TV shows such as “Raahat”, “ Rishtey”, “Koshish- Ek Asha” and Saturday Suspense. Kaushik also helped many directors such as Goutam Mukherjee, Gaurav Pandey, Partho Mitra and Amitabh Bhattacharya on several ad-films, shows and television shows, commercials. Although his first movie was in the year 2008 he got his debut directorial show or daily soap for a Bengali soap “Amra Povashi” which was shown on “Alpha Bangla”. His Hindi serial debut was the famous “ Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” under the banner of “Balaji Telefilms” which was shown on Star Plus. Over 100 episodes of this serial were directed by Mr. Kaushik Ghatak. Due to his overwhelming talent and hard work, this serial was the top show amongst all others and recorded the highest TRP.

In fact, when Ghatak was out of this project, the show lost its shine. But in his many years career, he has given the TV industry so much to cherish. He has done notable works by giving the TV industry the shows like “Sshh.. Koi Hai”, “ Shagun”, “Sanjivani”, “ Bandini” and many more. He has used every opportunity to the best of his possibilities.

Priya Tendulkar helped Karan a lot to become a screenplay writer. Kissi Miyan Biwi Ke was the serial, in which they both worked together. He also wrote a serial named Hakke Bakke and Priya Tendulkar performed in that serial. After some years, they both felt that their life is so boring and they cannot live together. They both agreed to part and got divorced in 1995. Priya Tendulkar died due to ill health in 2002. Later, Karan Razdan married Aarti, a tarot card reader.
