Chitra Vyas is a senior actress who has been acting in theatres, Hindi television serials and in Hindi and regional movies for years now. Actress Chitra Vyas is regarded as a veteran and multitalented actress in her field. She is mainly seen portraying challenging and motherly roles. Chitra Vyas hails from a respected and cultural Guajarati family and has been an active theatre artiste from an early age. She has an active contribution in popularizing Gujarati serials and plays among the audiences and promoting Gujarati television channels and serials as the Gujarati’s are not very much into television viewing. Chitra Vyas starred in Gujarati plays, movies and serials like- Dikri Vahal Na Dariyo- a comedy in the year 2008, a satirical drama- Patta Ni Jod which was released in the year 2005 and Gurubrahma – a 2008 telefilm. Chitra Vyas made her debut in the world of Hindi television and movies with Maniyaro which was released in the year 1980. She won accolades and awards for her portrayal of a very sensitive character in this movie. It was originally a Gujarati movie but later dubbed in Hindi also with the same title. Chitra Vyas has acted in an important supporting role in the popular Hindi serial Khandaan in the year 2006- which was a full on family drama daily soap with its usual twists and turns. She was also seen in popular 2008 Hindi tele serial Chingari in a challenging role that of a single mother. Recently, in the year 2012, actress Chitra Vyas was seen acting in another popular Hindi television serial Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyar Hum. This serial was a comedy serial with a romantic angle and was aired on Star Plus. Chitra Vyas in this show essayed the role of Baa- the matriarch of the Rajkot based wealthy Majumdar family.
