Salim Shah was born on September 17, 1964 in Aligarh. He got his education from Aligarh Muslim University where he made stage performances and was secretary of the AMU Drama Club. Mr. Salim Shah had acting skills in his veins. Being the cousin of Bollywood actor , he saw a speck of light in the Indian television industry.

Salim Shah’s first movie was “English, August” in 1994 in which he played the role of , a bureaucrat. The lead character, August fights the bureaucratic society. This movie bagged several awards. Lahore, released in 2010 is his most recent movie in which he played the role of Mr. Hidayaat. The movie is about a cricketer who turns into a kick-boxer to avenge the death of his brother.

Salim Shah made quite a mark in the Indian television industry with his first serial “” in 1996. The story spirals around the life of Jai who lives in a hostel in Dehradun, away from his parents Raj, played by Salim Shah. “”, another TV series was shot in Kashmir and telecasted on Star Plus in the year 2003.
