Prabhat came down to Mumbai to pursue a martial art class, but after coming in touch with theatre and television, he decided to stay in the tinsel town for a while. He got the opportunity to work in ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’(2000), which was produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms.

He got a wide praise for his role in the serial and it made his path clear. He did a serial called ‘Kasturi’ with the same production house. ‘Kasturi’ was a story of a girl who struggles to save her family and its name. He was also seen playing a wide variety of characters containing shades of almost all kinds in serials such as, ‘Pavitra Rishta’, ‘Savdhaan India- India Fights back’ & ‘Devon Ke Dev Mahadev’.

In ‘Pavitra Rishta’, he was seen playing the role of Ajit Lokhande, who is a negative character in the serial. He left the show in between due to some problems but was able to get his share of attention from the viewers.
