Mohit Raina is an Indian television actor, famous for his portrayal of Lord Shiva in Life OK’s 'Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev'. Born on 14th August 1982 in the UK, he was brought up in Jammu and Kashmir. Having graduated in commerce, he was planning to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant, when he moved to Mumbai to take up modeling and acting. He came in the top 5 of all contestants in the Grasim Mister India 2005 contest.
He had his television debut as Vikrant in Antariksh – Ek Amar Katha, and appeared as Shubham in Star Plus’s Bhabhi, before debuting on the big screen as Jai Kishan in
Don Muthu Swami, which starred
Mithun Chakraborty. He then played roles of Garv Rai in Chehra, Rishabh Mahiyavanshi in Bandini, and Agantuk in
Ganga Kii Dheej, before rising in popularity for his role as Lord Shiva in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, for which he won the Indian Telly Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role. He also appeared as Mahadev in Mahabharat and Katha Mahadev Putra Bal Ganesh Ki.
Mohit Raina would like to work behind the camera, if he wasn’t an actor. He goes to the gym very regularly, but can’t resist a samosa. He’s very close to his mother and loves Rajma chawal that she prepares for him. He is rumored to be one of the most highly paid actors in the industry, and was rated 9th on a list of the 50 sexiest Asian men in the world, by Eastern Eye newspaper.
