Jayanandan Bhaskar is an Indian celebrity cook who is the executive chef at the Karma Lakelands in Gurgaon, Haryana. His life took a sharp turn after he participated in the first season of “masterchef India” (2010) and ended up as the first runner-up. Soon afterward in 2011, he joined the Leela hotel in Gurgaon as its head chef in Indian cuisine. He hosted the cookery show “Chesdale Tadka Maar Ke” (2011), aired on Star TV in the Middle East and Africa.
He was also a member of the masterchef India team which entered the Limca Book of World Records for baking the world’s largest chocolate éclair cake. In 2013, he hosted a cooking workshop in Lucknow, which was telecasted on the Food Food channel. He has featured in the online videos of the food brands, Al Baker (UAE) and Swarna (UK), for their websites.
Besides television, Bhaskar has also appeared in cultural magazines, including Exotica, Meri Sajni, Jagran Sakhi, Bindiya, t3fs, Voozit, Wedding Affair, Varli and Spiceroute (the in-flight catalogue of spicejet). The Popular Brand Awards felicitated him with the Popular Chef Award in 2015. In 2017, Hyatt Regency in Gurgaon hired him as their executive sous chef, where he worked for two years before joining the Lakelands.
