The peculiarity of Chandan Madan’s TV career has been that he has acted more in episodic roles than in continuous sequences of long running serials. At the same time, however, Chandan has been part of many of the more famous serials cutting across most of the big channels like Sony, Zee, DD, Life OK etc. Chandan has restricted his acting career so far to TV serials only, and that too either by deliberate choice or due to his suitability for the same, most of his roles have been for episodes or roles which have something to do with the abnormal or supernatural or have some element of eeriness built into them, and Chandan Madan somehow revels in acting in such serials as borne out from various interviews he has given so far to TV journals. His most notable appearances have been in the episodes of the “
Fear Files” on Zee TV which deal with the mysterious and unexplained; “
Adaalat” and “
CID” on Sony TV which revolve round legal and investigative cases, while “Savdhaan India” of Life OK TV re-enacts in dramatized fashion, real life startling criminal cases. Besides these episodic serials, Chandan Mohan has also acted in continued sequences of long duration serials like the 2012 Zee TV offering“ Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke”; and Doordarshan serials ”Khwaabon Ke Darmiyaan” alongwith “
Dard Ka Rishta” . Elaborating about his roles in some of his serials, he specifically recollects the three episode series he had done for Sony TV’s CID, entitled “Trishakti” which has a semi science fiction background to it, and the troubles that the scientist run into and how these are finally tackled. The other series he recollects is for the Life Ok serial “Savdhan India”, where in a negative role he portrays the character of a conman who dupes the father of two girls from Mathura, marrying each of them one by one, but ultimately meeting retribution at the hands of the two sisters who had found out about his machinations. From the ease with which Chandan seems to get roles across production houses and channels, most producers may be finding him easy to work with. The other factor could be that he is satisfied with whatever roles come his way, satisfied with a steady amount of work, rather than trying to pose as a top contender.
