Rekha Kamat was an Indian actress. She was born in 1932. Rekha Ji and her sister learnt the art of dancing in their schools. This art helped both of them to get an opportunity to work in cinema. It is a well-known fact that she predominantly worked in the Marathi film industry. Rekha Ji unfolded her wings and started her career with Lakhachi Gosht, a comedy/classic film released in 1952. Rekha Ji was just 20 years old when she made her debut in the film industry. After her debut performance, she got another offer for the film Kanchanganga, a drama/musical film released in 1954.

. Rekha Ji got stardom through her exceptional and mind-blowing performances. Not only that, but she was known to one and all watching or attached to Marathi cinema. Rekhaji got detached from the film Industry after the year 1979 and then restarted working in 1998. Even after being old and aged, she had the attitude to keep working and giving her best.
However, this time she was performing old lady characters in various movies. She did several advertisements, like the role of grandmother in daily soaps. Rekha Ji portrayed the role of Maai, the grandmother, in the TV show Eka Lagnachi Dusri Ghoshta in the year 2012. Her last TV series was Vyakti ani Valli, in the year 2014. After that, she retired from the film industry, but the good part is that she left with a lot of memories of this reel world. With her splendid acting style, she won many hearts. However, this legendary actress left all of us on 11th January 2022. She died at an age of 89 years. The cause of her death was some health-related issues.
