Yakub Mehboob Khan was an Indian film actor, remembered by the regional audience for his work in movies like Al Hilal (1935), Grama Kanya (1936), Manmohan (1936), Watan (1938), Aurat (1940), etc. He was considered to be one of the most iconic actors who portrayed a negative role. Born in 1904, Yakub had to go through a rough phase during his childhood as he ran away from his hometown and left his family at an early age and was forced to work odd jobs like table waiter or motor mechanic for a living. After working for quite a few years on a ship named “S.S. Madura,” he came to Mumbai and joined the Sharda film company.
Mostly known for his major involvement in Hindi short films, documentaries, TV shows, reality shows, daily soaps, and Kollywood movies, Yakub was has been a prominent part of the Indian film industry for more than thirty years.
