Born and brought up in London, Kanwal Singh moved to Bombay aspiring to be an actor. Kanwal Singh has presented many of his poetic pieces like ‘Kya Bataaoon,’‘Logon Ke Ghar’ and ‘HameshaDerr Kar DetaHoonMein.’ In these introspective compositions, he has explored emotions of love, compassion, belongingness, and guilt.

He has also performed Sadat Hasan Manto’s famous work ‘Zamaane Ke JisDaur,’ which is about society's reaction to Manto’s stories. Kanwal Singh recently wrote and acted in the short film ‘Silent Types- When He Said Nothing At All.’ The short film is 12 minutes 54 seconds long and is available on YouTube.
