Allan Amin is a renowned action director predominantly working in Bollywood, Tollywood and Mollywood film industries. He is the recipient of The Filmfare Award for best action in 2001, 2004, 2006 respectively for
Mission Kashmir (2000), Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003) and Dus (2005). Critics applaud him for his unique style & creativity. Allan is working in this field for around 25 years.
Allan is the son of famous action director of yesteryears, A Gani Amin of Ganga Jamuna, Nagin & Raaj Tilak fame. Allan quit a course of electronics engineering to pursue the career of his dream. Allan’s first project was an ad film for Tata Tea. He continues doing more ad films & His choreographic ability of directing the action sequences caught the attention of many producers & directors. Allan got his first break in 1992 Malayalam action film Yoddha starring Mohanlal. After that, he worked in Kajol’s debut film Bekhudi. He continued his creative stunt execution in Beta & Jo Jeeta wahi Sikandar.
Allan’s work caught attention & Shekhar Kapoor roped him in for critically acclaimed drama
Bandit Queen. Then he delivered his excellence in back to back three films
Dil Se (1998), Satya (1998) & 1947 Earth (1998). His work garnered praise from all contemporary critics. Allan received his first Filmfare award in 2001 for his work in
Hrithik Roshan starrer Mission Kashmir. Soon Allan became the mastermind behind many action packed & critically acclaimed films like
The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Qayamat: City Under Threat,
Main Hoon Na, Dhoom, Paheli,
Rang De Basanti, Dhoom 2, Namesake, Dus, Delhi-6, & Race. Allan won two more filmfare awards.
He also choreographed the action sequences in Dev starrer Bengali film Rangbaaz (2013). His latest work in Bollywood is Dhisoom (2016). Allan also tried his hands with fame in Television World, directing the action scenes in Hindi remake of critically acclaimed TV series 24 in 2013 starring
Anil Kapoor in leading role. Allan also hosted Popular TV reality show MTV Stunt Mania in 2009.
