Born on 25th March 1879, Narayan Bapuldas Nayak was an Indian stage actor, director and manager of the Gujarati Theatre. Bapulal Nayak was born in Mehsana, Baroda state of British India. His family came from a background of folk theatre performers. He joined Mumbai Gujarati Natak Mandal at a young age. Initially, he was more involved in stage planning, managing, and acting but later became a partner, in the company. His first salary was three rupees for a month. His company performed plays all over the country. He acted in a lot of mythological plays. He started directing plays and was quite good at adapting literature into plays.
