Ranu Mondal is an Indian singer who became a social media sensation due to her talent. Ranu was born on 5th November 1960 in Krishna Nagar, West Bengal. She lost her parents when she was six years old. Ranu was brought up by her uncle and aunt. She got married to Bablu Mondal who worked as a cook. At the age of 20, Ranu moved to Mumbai with her husband in search of jobs. She never went to any school or college. So in her childhood, after finishing all her works, she used to listen to songs in the radio in her free times. Music become her only partner. She got inclined towards singing and made Lata Mangeskar and Mohammad Rafi as her idol.

So in Mumbai, when she found no other job she started singing in the clubs. But her husband denied it. She started working as a labour to feed her two kids. In the year 2009, her husband died due to health issues. She had a second marriage. But due to some reasons her husband denied to accept her. So, she went back to her hometown in West Bengal are started doing odd jobs. She used to sing songs in the Railway station. A passenger recorded a clip in which Ranu was singing an old Hindi song and posted in social media. It went viral in hours and people loved her sweet voice. She was invited on the stage of the reality show Superstar Singers in Sony TV.
