Pamela Jain is a Hindi singer who was born to a Bengali family in Kolkata, West Bengal.Born in a family where her grandfather was the famous novelist Shri Bimal Mitra, who wrote the novel 'Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam,' it was her parents Shri Kamlesh Basu and Smt. Shakunthala Basu who encouraged her to learn and pursue Classical music.Her singing career did not get affected after her marriage as her husband Shri Ashwin Jain stood with her in her desire to become a musician.
Pamela was a singer from a very young age, and she received her first prize for singing when she was just seven years old. She got trained in classical music under Pandit Bimalendu Mukherjee and Pandit Aaskan Sharma. Her first stint at publicity was when she began singing at the young age of sixteen for the Raipur Radio Station. She was the winner in Meri Awaaz Suno in 1998 and Adaab Araz Hai in 1999. Her professional career began from then on.
Her first film song was for the film Na Tum Jaano by the music director Rajesh Roshan.Among her various hits with leading music directors like A.R Rahman, Shri Ravindra Jain, Lalit Singh, etc. One of her biggest hit song was for the mega-serial Kumkum, which gained wide popularity. She has sung for major actresses and also produced many chartbusters.
