Mili Nair, born on April 7th in Mumbai, educated in Pune and Bangalore, is a singer and songwriter in India. She sings in English, Tamil, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada and Hindi. She was a student of journalism at the Mount Carmel, Bangalore and did music training in Trinity School of London and Royal School of Music. She is trained in Western classical vocals and Carnatic music. She became famous when she sang Badari Badariya and Yatra, both composed by the famous music director

She has recorded music with composers like AR Rahman, Amit Trivedi and Pritam. In 2009, she shared the stage with the famous guitar player Vinny Valentino at the Java Jazz Festival. She loved jazz music because of the freedom it offered to her and always listened to the tracks of Ella Fitzgerald which was one of her favourites. Other personal favourites were Sting, Bobby McFerin and Steely Dan.
She began her career by singing jingles for advertisements. The recent advertisements in which she sang are for Coca Cola’s Maaza Campaign, Incredible India Tourism Campaign 2013 and Cadbury Silk. Her first break in the film industry came under the famous Indian music director AR Rahman with the Tamil song in the movie Raavanan- Keda Kari in the year 2010. She also sang the theme song for the Malayalam movie Urumi and Meethi Boliyaan in the Hindi film Kai Po Che. She manages easily working in advertisement jingles for television, playback singing and live shows, altogether. Her music is influenced by her passion for western music and deep love for the Indian classical music and film songs. She is believed to be a fearless artiste who is born only to make signature songs that will never get faded away.
