Kavish Mishra

Kavish Mishra was born on 10th November 1988 in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh of India. Kavish is one of India’s most prominent musicians working in the Bollywood industry right now. He is a singer, musical composer, music director and producer. Born and raised in Gorakhpur, Kavish belongs to a very simple and humble Brahmin family, his father used to work for Door Darshan National channel and his mother was a housewife.

Kavish was a born musician, his passion for music started very early in his childhood when he started singing on his own by imitating songs that he used to watch on television. During his school days, whe he was studying in 1st standard, Kavish’s uncle MK Mishra decided to organize a musical competition, for musicians to showcase their talents in singing and instrument playing. Kavish won the first prize in the competition and that was one of the defining moments in his life, is because that’s when he decided that he will one day pursue a career in music.

Soon after, Kavish started learning classical music from his mentor Shri Madhup Shri Chhotelal Ji, who taught him almost everything about music. After completing his schooling and fully learning classical music, Kavish decided to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering as he did not want to start off a career without having received a graduation degree. During his college days itself, and even in the late stages of his schooling days, Kavish started doing stage shows as a teenager. He would perform in high class weddings, functions and events.

He would sing songs from classical genre to modern Bollywood and party songs. After completing his graduation, in 2007 Kavish formed a band called ‘Daksh’. The band was highly successful in it’s initial days itself, as they went on to write and perform jingles for commercials for brands like Mahindra, Godrej, Taaza Tea and many other multi-national brands. They first worked in Bollywood, when they performed music for the movie ‘Kuch Spice To Make It Meetha’.

The movie stars Poorabh Kohli. As an independent artist, Kavish went on to release songs like Ziddi Chora, Ab Bas, Jazbaat, Dil Ki Yaariyan and Ye Dil Tera, where he would also act in the music videos. Apart from music, Kavish as a child also did a little bit acting, he appeared in the blockbuster show Shaktimaan where he made a cameo appearance as a child artist.
