Rajan and Sajan Mishra of the Banaras Gharana taught her Indian Classical Music. She is a student of Ustaad Sakhawat Hussain as well. Dr. Jagriti has a PhD Degree in Sufi Music from Delhi University.

Her thesis was on the work and contribution of Lt Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to Sufi Music. She received awards for Best Classical Performance at Navodit Kalakar Samiti and Best Classical Performance for the play Kalidasa's Abhigyan Shakuntlam, presented by the National School of Drama, Delhi. She also received a prize from Pioneer Hobby Centre, run by Yashika Education Society and sponsored by Punjab Kesari, for being the best classical vocalist. She has also performed exclusively with her own Sufi Jugalbandi ensemble, the Roohani Sisters, both in India and overseas. In addition, she is an artist for the radio and Doordarshan.
