Gauri Pathare is an Indian Musician, Singer, and Classical Vocalist. She was born and raised in the state of Maharashtra. Gauri Pathare completed her undergraduate education at Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. After that, she went on to do her postgraduate studies in Programming at NIIT Institute in Mumbai. Over the years, Gauri Pathare has grown to become a prominent figure in the contemporary realm of Indian Classical Music. Her musical journey began under the tutelage of Pt. Gangadharbuwa Pimpalkhare of Kirana Gharana. Later, she followed her mother's footsteps by receiving talim for 5 years from Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. From 2010, her musical path led her to receive training in the Jaipur Gharana under the guidance of Pt. Arun Dravidand Pandita Padmatai Talwalkar. Because she had many different teachers, Gauri Pathare’s music developed in such a way that she was able to harmoniously blend three different Gharanas: Jaipur, Gwalior, and Kirana into her Khayal.
Throughout her career, Gauri Pathare has received many prestigious awards for her music, which includes the Smt. Kesarbai Kerkar Scholarship from the NCPA in 2000, the Surmani Puraskar in 2006, and the Pt. Ramkrishnabuwa Vaze Yuwa Gayak Puraskar in 2007. Gauri Pathare has performed at many renowned classical music festivals across India, such as the Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav, Tansen Festival, Chandigarh Sangeet Sammelan, Kesarbai Kerkar Sammelan, and Pt. Kumar Gandharva Sangeet Sammelan.Â
In addition to her performances, Gauri Pathare hosts the annual Indian classical music festival ‘Parle Swar Vasant’ in Mumbai every year in February. This is a tradition that she has been carrying out since 2014. Besides music, she is also a trustee at the Laukik Arts Foundation and has been a Cultural goodwill ambassador for Arkansas USA in the office of Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe.
