Anisha Lakshmanan

Anisha Lakshmanan is Chennai- based singer and songwriter. She studied to become a Chartered Accountant for almost four years, and then later enrolled at Berklee College of Music which is Valencia campus in Spain for a year's master's in contemporary music performance in 2017 and also studied at Hindustani Classical at Pune as an undergraduate level which helped with diverse backgrounds of music. At, Berklee she wrote a chunk of her EP, taking advantage of plenty of the studio time available and different genres where Anisha was able to bring two distinct areas of singing that are classical and western together. She decided to pursue music because of sibling rivalry where her sister used to get trained by her father and uncle which made her compete with her sister or music.

It was at that time the singer penned the record when she lost her father two months after joining Berklee. She is popular for EP and houses songs in English, Hindi, and Tamil which is also spread across other genres with a mix of Hindustani classical elements, Carnatic music, pop, jazz, and even flamenco. Popular for contemporary albums such as "Kadhul Idhu Thana" which describes an urban girl going to a village and falling in love with the idea of a villager being her partner. The melody of "Piya Mora" describes the feelings of her mother after losing her father and breaking up tracks such as "Stranger in a Mask" and "My World".

Of many tracks recorded at Ann Kreis scoring stage at Berklee-Valencia which includes tracked by 16 musicians from eight different countries. Her band has huge talent where she had five drummers, three pianists, five guitarists, and two bass players in the span of six months. The Band currently features Mumbai musicians such as Siddhant Vetekar on bass, Subid Khan on guitar, Siddhant Patra on drums, and Smarajeet Bhattacharya on keys. After launching of EP Anisha is working on a couple of singles and tours to major metros with many stage shows also.
