Ayeesha Menon is an award-winning stage, film, and radio writer and creator. She is originally from Mumbai, but she lives in the United Kingdom. At the BBC Audio Drama Awards, her modern-day adaptation of "A Tale of Two Cities" received Best Adaptation, and "Midnight's Children" won Outstanding Achievement. A Fine Balance, The Seventh Test, and The Mumbai Chuzzlewits are some other audio fiction pieces. She received the Best Drama Award at the Sony Radio Awards for her audio adaptations of Vikas Swarup's best-selling novel Q&A (aka Slumdog Millionaire Click to look into! >> Read More... ) and Naguib Mafouz's The Cairo Trilogy.
Ayeesha's BBC Radio 4 credits include the original drama "Into the Maze'' and three seasons of the Indian police detective series "Undercover Mumbai." The script for the Indian feature film The White Elephant was written by her, and her play Periera's Bakery at 76 Chapel Road premiered at Mumbai's Prithvi Theatre and was read at London's Royal Court Theatre. Ayeesha is working on a play for the National Theatre.
