Prem Kamath

Prem Kamath, currently the Chief Executive Officer of Serious Media, has headed channels like Star Pravah and Channel V. The producer has over twenty years of experience as an entertainment and media executive.

Kamath studied at Toc H Public School. He pursued engineering at Mumbai University, specializing in electronics and telecommunication. After that, he earned a postgraduate diploma in communication at MICA in 1998.

The producer landed his initial job as an account executive with Enterprise Nexus Private Limited, working there for a year. In 1999, he joined Leo Burnett, serving as an associate vice president. After working with the company for eight years, Kamath switched to Star India Pvt Ltd.

For about two years, Kamath served as the vice president of marketing for Star TV Network. In 2009, he was elevated to the position of executive vice president and general manager for Channel V. During his stint with Channel V, Kamath introduced fiction shows which the youngsters could watch with their families. He was also lauded for infusing the shows with the right values for the youth and bringing the older generation closer to the present one.

After donning the role for about six years, he segued to executive vice president and general manager for Star Pravah. In 2014, the producer relocated to Singapore to serve as the deputy managing director of Asia Pacific for A+E Networks. It was in 2018 that he switched to Serious Media, Singapore, as the CEO.

Kamath is credited with skills like the production, distribution, and monetization of premium content. Besides, the producer also specializes in branding, marketing, and broadcast media. In addition to that, he is enthusiastic about brand building and talent development.

The producer enjoys scuba diving, riding bikes, and playing golf.
