Pravin Thakur

Pravin Thakur is a producer and founder of Gimmicks Productions. He earned his Undergraduate Degree from Elphinstone College and completed his Master’s Degree in Film and Television in the 1980s from the London Film School in the United Kingdom. After having worked with BBC, he returned to Mumbai, India, and founded Gimmicks Productions which specializes in the production of TVCs and documentary films. In 1998 his production company began handling production logistics as Line producers for foreign films and TV companies who wished to shoot on locations throughout India.

Since then, he produced numerous projects for TV channels, Film companies, and corporates in the United States of America, Europe, and the Middle East including Google, BBC, Nat Geo, and Discovery Channel. Pravin has produced over 200 projects with various advertising agencies like Ogilvy, Dentsu, Johnson and Johnson, Hindustan Lever, Leo Mettel, Vodafone, Amazon and many more. In 2022 Gimmicks Production started with its Post Production Arm known as Gimmicks Post which provides the services of translation, dubbing, voice-over, and sub-titling in all the 22 Indian languages along with the international languages. The best feature of this service is that all the projects are executed by native artists from their respective countries.
