Manu Rewal

Manu Rewal is an Indo-French filmmaker and producer. He is also a screenwriter, producer and director of films for his production company Karma Production. Rewal was born in 1966 in Delhi. He work is based in Delhi and Paris. He studied in Modern School, Delhi. During his school time, he was associated with many extracurricular activities like music, photography and football. Rewal then pursued acting and film studies in France and the US. He studied Baccalauréat C- International Science and Mathematics in Lycee Sophia Antipolis. Rewal pursued Master’s degree in Film/Cinema/Video Studies from Sorbonne University. He took acting classes from the Atelier Theatre in Paris. Rewal started working in documentaries of architecture. He honed his skill by making 15 architectural documentaries. Seven of them were nominated and three documentaries won various International film festivals awards. Le Corbusier in India (2000) won the Prix Award at the UNESCO Festival on Art and Education in Paris. It also won the Jury Award at MIPA in Madrid. Mandu (1996) won the Certificate of Honorary Mention at the Columbus Film Festival. Lutyens’ Delhi (1999) won the Prix Archives Ethniques: UNESCO Film Festival on Art and Education, France. Under his Karma Productions in Paris, Rewal wrote screenplays and directed four feature films. These works earned recognition in many screenplay competitions.
