Dwarkadas Sampat was a producer and innovator born on 24th October; 1884 in Bombay (now Mumbai). He started making films with a camera of the Edison Kaleidoscope Company in 1904 and displayed them in Rajkot. He established Patankar Friends & Co. and introduced their first film Kach Devyani in 1920 which had Garba dance form. In 1920, he founded his film production called Kohinoor Film Company, which made about 100 feature films worldwide. He was a responsible man who managed to introduce multiple languages like English, Gujarati, Marathi, Urdu. Sampat was behind the success and production of some leading stars like Zubeida, Sultana, Goharbai, Khalil, Mohan Bhavnani Mohan Bhavnani was an Indian director.
