Ashok Sharan is a film producer. He specialised in tribal subjects. He has produced more than 150 documentary films on the tribes of India and their art, culture and life. He produced and directed the full length feature film "Ulgulan-Ek Kranti (The Revolution)" which was based on the great legendary tribal freedom fighter "Birsa Munda" in 35 MM cinemascope with Dolby Digital sound. He produced many tele & short films in various subjects. He completed a mega TV series for Indian Television. He owns a company under the name of Neon Films.
He was a jury member of the 53rd national film festival award 2007 organized by the Directorate of Film Festival, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. He was featured in the film Dhoom Pachak Dhoom, based on a children's subject; it was a short film about a child's baby. He was involved in social causes such as animal welfare, the arts and culture, children, education, the environment, disaster and humanitarian relief, and social services. Ashok Sharan was known for Aakrant in 1988. He has a minimum number of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
