Prahlad Modi is India’s present Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s younger brother. Prahlad Modi was born to Damodardas Bhai Mulchand Modi and mother Heera Ben Modi. He is the fourth child in the family and Narendra Modi’s younger brother. Prahlad has three brothers as well as two sisters. They are six siblings in all. His mother, Heera Ben currently lives with the youngest brother Pankaj Modi. His father, Damodardas Modi used to sell tea. .

Prahlad Modi has an emotional touch with Narendra Modi. It is said that Narendra Modi is not very close to any other family members than his younger brother Prahlad Modi, and his mother, Heera Ben Modi. Prahlad Modi owned a Fair Price Shop in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. After getting old, he stopped his business and retired. Even though he left the business, he is still active with the activities that involve all the struggles and problems faced by the fair price shop owners.

Even when his brother, the current Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from the year 2001 to 2014, Prahlad went as a delegate to discuss the problems of the fair price shop owners in the issue of supplies with low quality to the Chief Minister.

In September 2016, Prahlad’s daughter Nikunjben (age 41) died suffering from a heart disease. She was suffering from heart disease from over a decade. Her treatment was going on at UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She was married to a computer repairer. Due to poor financial status, she used to give tailoring classes to support the finance. Narendra Modi was attending the G20 summit in China when she passed away. He couldn’t attend the funeral but came back the next day. He called from China to give condolences to Prahlad Modi and his family.

Arun Jaitley

Arun Jaitley was born on 28 December, 1952, in New Delhi. He is our present Finance Minister, Corporate Affairs Minister, and Information & Broadcasting Minister, in the current NDA government. This minister is the son of Maharaj Kishen Jaitley, an eminent lawyer, and Ratan Prabha, a social activist. He is married to Sangeeta Jaitley. Sangeeta’s father was the ex-Finance Minister, Girdhari Lal Dogra. The couple have two children, Rohan and Sonali. He did his schooling from St. Xavier’s School of Delhi. He graduated from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce from the University of Delhi. He did his further studies in law from the same university. While in university, he became the student leader of the student political party, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), and in 1974, he stood for the Student Union elections and went on to become its President. From 1977 onwards, Jaitley began practicing law in many High Courts, as well as the Supreme Court of India. He got the designation of Senior Advocate in the Delhi High Court. In 1989, he became the Additional Solicitor General of India, in the then V. P. Singh government. He has fought some very high-profile cases during his active years as a lawyer. His clients include major multinational firms like PepsiCo, Madhavrao Scindia, L. K. Advani, and Sharad Yadav, among others. Jaitley has published several books on legal matters. He gave up his legal practice in the year 2009. Since 1991, Arun is on the national executive board of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was the official spokesperson of the BJP in 1999, before the elections. In 1999, when the Vajpayee government came into power, Arun became a part of the cabinet. He was given the portfolio of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (Independent Charge), and Ministry of State for Disinvestment (Independent Charge). Later on, in 2000, he also got the charge of the Law, Justice & Company Affairs, and Shipping ministries. He was escalated to the main cabinet in November 2000. He became the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, in 2009. He fought the Lok Sabha elections from Amritsar in the general elections of 2014, but faced defeat in the hands of Amarinder Singh, a Congress candidate. He is a member of the upper house from Gujarat. He was included in the main cabinet as the Finance Minister and Defence Minister. The Manila-based Asian Development Bank has Jaitley as a Board of Governor member.

Mohammed Abdur Rahiman

Mohammad Abdur Rahman, also known as Mohammad Abdur Rahman Sahib, was born in 1898 in Kodungallur which is in Thrissur district, the kingdom of Cochin, Kerala in British India. He was an Indian freedom fighter who contributed immensely in Indian Independence Movement activation and reorganization. Sahib represented Kerala in Congress. Unfortunately, he died due to a heart attack in 23rd November 1945 at Pottasheri in British India. He went to school in Venniyambadi and Calicut. He went to college in Madras and Aligarh, but he decided not to continue his study in Aligarh Muslim University and to participate in freedom movements. Mohammed worked hard to bringpeace in the areas which were severely affected during the Moplah Riots of 1921, but unfortunately, he got arrested for his good deeds and got sentenced to imprisonment for two years by the British Government in the month of October in the same year. He participated in the Salt Satyagraha movement in 1930 where his role was to break the salt law on the Calicut Beach. He got punished for his doings in the form of lathi charge. He was again sentenced to imprisonment and now for nine months at the Kannur Central Jail. He not only took part in riots and movements to promote Freedom but also took help of pen and paper to spread his ideas on independence. He was both an editor and a publisher of a dailyAl-Ameen in Malayalam which continued from 1929-1939 in Calicut. Being the editor, he aimed to promote the thoughts of freedom movement and strengthen nationalism among the Muslim section of the population, but some conservatives of the society strongly opposed his liberal ideas, and with the help of communist parties and the British Government they finally closed down the publication of the newspaper. Later, though Rahman sahib was offered a jewelry to start publishing again by an admirer, he refused to continue. Mohammad was a member of the Calicut Municipal Council from the year 1931 to the year 1934. He was also a member of the Malabar District Board from the year 1932. He also got elected to Madras Presidency, and later Sahib became the President of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). He also made himself a member of the All India Congress Committee. He admired Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. He was also an active participant and member of the Forward Block. During the Second World War, he was sent to prison from 1940-45, but after he got released from jail, he actively participated in Congress activities but sadly met his death in November 1945, just after he completed a meeting at Kodiyathpur. The Department of Post and Telegraphs, to remember and respect him, issued a commemorate stamp in his name, in the year 1998. In the year 2011, a film was also released depicting the life history and the works of Rahman Sahib.
