Hailing from Maharashtra, Nitin Gadkari is a politician. He was born on 27 May 1957 in Nagpur. Presently, in 2022, he is the Minister for Road Transport and Highways. He is currently running his tenure for over eight years and is the longest serving Minister for Road Transport and Highway. From 2009 to 2013, he served as the President of the BJP, but he resigned in January 2013. It was a tough phase for the party as it lost two successive Lok Sabha elections. He is also known for his work as the Public Work Department Minister of Maharashtra. He is closely associated with RSS headquarters at Nagpur, Maharashtra. Nitin is a lawyer by profession and represents Nagpur in the Lok Sabha. The portfolio for the Ministry of MSME under him was reassigned to Narayan Rane during the cabinet shuffle in 2021. When he was young, he worked for the student union ABVP.
He graduated from Nagpur University. He pursued M. Com. and LLB. Nitin strongly supported privatization. He was appointed as the Chairman of the Nationals Rural Road Development Committee by the Union Government. He was also a member of the Legislative Council, Maharashtra. As a PWD Minister, he has played a crucial role in the building of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. He entrusted the work of construction to MSRDC in March 1997. A tender notice was published in newspapers and over the internet. One hundred thrity-three tenders were sold due to the wide publicity. One of the significant achievements of Nitin Gadkari was the construction of 55 flyovers in Mumbai, and which eased the traffic of the city. Gadkari is known for his works.
