Bal Gandharva Hindi Actor

Bal Gandharva is an Indian Playback Singer and a Stage Actor. He was born on the 26th of June in the year 1988. He is from Nagthane, Maharashtra. His father’s name is Shripad Rajhans, and his mother’s name is Annapurna. His actual name is Narayan Sripad Rajhans. He got the name after he performed in Pune in front of Bal Gangadhar Tilak (Lokmanya). Lokmanya liked Narayan’s performance a lot. He praised Narayan a lot and pat him on his back. From then people named Narayan as Bal Gandharva. Gandharva married twice. His first wife Lakshmibai Narayanrao Rajhans died in 1940. He married Gohar Karnataki, a stage actress in the year 1951.

Gandharva used to sing bhajans in his childhood. He was later noticed and allowed to sing in the Kirloskar Natak Mandali, a musical theatre. He later formed a company named “Gandharva Sangeet Mandala” with two other people in 1913. Gandharva became the sole owner of the company in 1921. He also acted in a few dramas in the female roles. He was famous for how he carries his female roles with ease. Gandharva appeared as an actor in about 25 dramas. Gandharva got a “President’s Award” in 1955. He also received the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award in the year 1964. Bal Gandharva died in 1967 on the 15th of July in Pune, Maharashtra.
