Taba Chake

Taba Chake is an Indian Nyishi figure-style guitarist, songwriter, and singer based in Mumbai. Taba Chake was born on Friday, December 24, 1993. His place of birth is Rono, Doimukh in Arunachal Pradesh, India. He was raised in a Rono village in Papum Pare. He completed his school education at Government Higher Secondary School, Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh. After that, he graduated from Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. Later, he went to Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music in Chennai to pursue music, but he dropped out in the final year. His nationality is Indian. He belongs to the Nyishi tribe family. According to the astrologer, Taba Chake’s star sign is Capricorn. His hobbies are listening to music, doodling, and travelling.

Also, he owns pet dogs, one of which he named Ponchi. He can speak in five languages such as Nyishi, English, Hindi, Nepali, and Assamese. He has an elder brother. He has a younger sister named Katrin. Taba Chake has been interested in music since his childhood. When he was six years old, Taba Chake started practicing music and recreating them. He began writing his own songs when he turned eleven. In 2009, his musical journey began, where he became part of a Hindi band in Arunachal Pradesh, active till 2011. The band released two songs, including “Sun Le Meri,” in 2011. Following its breakup, Taba Chake decided to be an independent musician and started performing solo at clubs in Delhi and Mumbai.

In 2014, he took part in the All India Finger Style Competition by Infinite Souls and got second. He has travelled worldwide, performing in various music festivals such as Ziro Festival of Music, Ragasthan, New Wave Asia, Shine A Light, and Songs and Dances of North East. Taba Chake’s music is inspired by tribal folklore, birds, and nature. He sings mainly in Nyishi (his native tongue), Hindi, and English. Taba Chake’s debut album “Bond with Nature” was released in 2016. In 2019, his second album “Bombay Dreams,” was released. It features the songs “Walk with Me” and “Aao Chalein.” The album gained 12.2 million streams around all platforms and got it to number 12 on Apple Music’s All Genre Charts. Later on, he released the single titled “Blush” in November 2020. It was produced by Ritwik De of Zokokva, an instrumental rock band.
