Aswathi Thirunal Rama Varma, also popular with the name Prince Rama Varma is an Indian classical musician, music teacher, orator, writer, and enthusiast. Aswathi Thirunal Rama Varma is an eminent name in the field of classical music both nationally and internationally. Varma has also performed at national level as well as in abroad countries too. Aswathi Thirunal was born on the 13th of August in the year 1968. His place of birth is Thiruvananthapuram, in Kerala. Aswathi Thirunal has got his initial training in music under the guidance of Prof. Vechoor Harihara SubramaniaIyer in the year 1982. He considered him his guru and took music lessons from him till he died.

Aswathi is also a trained professional in playing Sarawati Veena. He learned playing it from his mentors cum guru Prof.K. S. Narayanaswamy and Sri Trivandrum R. Venkataraman. Rama has gained a lot of accomplishments in the preceding years. He got a chance to portray his talent at queen Elizabeth Hall situated in London, where he released his music CD. He has also given a marvelous performance at the Rashtrapati Bhawan as he got invited by the Missile Man of India, Lt. Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam.

He has made pioneer contributions in this genre of music. Aswathi also conducts workshops and seminars to make people aware of the essence of Indian classical music and its essence. Rama was also a part of the Rotterdam Conservatory, Codarts, where he taught Classical music for years. Aswathi knows languages such as Malayalam, Hindi, French, Tamil, and English. To preach and make people aware, he every year conducts a festival named Swathi Sangeethotsavam, as a tribute to the Maharaja Swathi Thirunal music.This festival is one of the longest celebrated festivals in South India. He is one of the best examples of how Carnatic music can be soothing and enthralling at the same moment. His music is a grandeur to society.
