Swapnil is most famous for his contributions to the very popular Nepalese band ‘The Shadows Nepal’. Swapnil grew up in the small town of Chitwan. During his school days, the singing bug had already bitten him, as he was highly interested in becoming a singer. He won several awards and even some national level awards during his school time for singing. Even though he is a rock singer, in an interview Swapnil claimed that he was mostly inspired by Bhajans that his family used to listen to when he was younger. Some of his other inspirations are Led Zepplin, AC/DC, Iron Maiden and The Beatles.

Their first album Suna Hamro Sano Awaaz kick-started the fortunes of their band. Due to it being the first Nepali rock band, their styles were totally different from what everyone else was making. The Shadows were one of the first rock bands to make music about the harsh realities and struggles of life, while everyone else was making love songs, The Shadows were making songs about real-life struggles, which helped them gain major popularity among the youth listeners.

Their second album ’Hidne Manche Ladcha’ was a major success and it is their most successful album to date. The album also won them the best band, best performance and best music awards in 2006. This album was dedicated more towards social issues and injustices around the world and also around them. The success of the album was resonating worldwide as the band went on to their first-ever world tour where they performed in various cities of Australia.  Apart from his band and music, Swapnil also completed his MBA degree in 2009 and is now a very successful entrepreneur. He founded the very famous Purple Haze Rock Bar in 2012, which has housed some of the most prominent musicians in the rock world. After completing his MBA in 2009, Swapnil made a good name for himself in the management industry, he is now a very successful event planner and career counselor too.
