Taciana was born in São José do Rio Preto, Brazil making her a Brazilian by birth, but now she resides in Mumbai, India. She graduated from UNIRP - Centro Universitário de Rio Preto, a university in Brazil. She currently works with Inega which is located in Mumbai, India. Her tall height of 5’8 allowed her to start a career as a model in Brazil. She did small shoots for magazines and advertisement, later she moved onto films. It was released on 9 September 2011. In the film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan Taciana played the role of Ali Zafar’s girlfriend who at the beginning of the movie breaks up with him. She makes an appearance again at the end when Ali Zafar’s character and her character patch things up and live happily ever after.

Apart from doing Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Taciana was part of the background of another movie called Thank You Click to look into! >> Read More... . While both the movies didn’t fare so well at the box office, but these movies helped Taciana Matos enter the Indian film industry. Using her appearance in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan as an actor, she paved her way into the industry, signing contracts with Sunsilk, Lakmé and Garnier. She had also appeared on the cover of ELLE, T3 and Femina. Taciana has embraced the Indian culture as her own and can be seen modelling for various designers in sarees. Apart from that, she can be seen modelling traditional Indian jewellery and endorsing various beauty products. In an interview, Taciana explains the language barrier as most Brazilian girls have to face when going out of their country by saying that, most Brazilian girls start modelling at the early age of 14 , to support their families.

Hence, unless Brazilian girls attend private schools, which are extremely expensive, learning English is often seen as a challenge. She also explains that in Brazil there isn’t much of a business for a film industry. The film industry’s value is far worse than that of the television shows. Taciana yet longs to try her luck in Brazilian television as there is still money and fame to be achieved through it and this would also allow her to be near her mother, yet she is aware of the stark reality which is, that living in Rio is an expenditure she cannot yet afford.
